OBSERVANCE OF PATRIOTS DAY
ChanuraNambol, 13-08-2022: The UNACCO SCHOOL, Chanura observed 131 patriot’s day with a zeal of patriotic feelings in the hearts. The auspicious day thus embarked at 8.30am with lamp lighting & floral tribute to the portrait of the three great freedom fighters who laid down their lives for their motherland in the 1891 Anglo-Manipur war against the British. (Tikendrajit, PaonaBrajabashi&Thangal General).We paid our heartfelt homage to the great freedom fighters of Manipur; whose blood gave the price of the life we live today. Henceforth, the mesmerizing state song entitled “Sana Leipak Manipur” was presented by the students to commemorate the sacrifices of the great freedom fighters and to awaken the feelings of patriotism in us. The song was the symbolism of unity & cooperation regardless of caste or religion. In the meantime, the welcome address of Mr Saroj (pgt mathematics) nodded gratitude to the distinguished dignitaries- ShriAnupkrMukhopadhyay, Director Unacco school, Mr Shymchand AGM, Mr Partho (vice-principal Unacco school meitram) who came all the way to grace the occasion. One could sense the speech of Mr Sudesh (PGT history) as a feather to the cap significace of the day captivating the attention of everyone & to recall the glorious history of Manipur. His words realised us the sense of unity, responsibilities and invoked us to pay homage to those great patriots of Manipur who laid down their lives for the sake of the motherland and its people with an allegorical element. But, the whole day’s attention was captured by the different items presented by the beloved students in the form of recitation, solo song & group song as a part of inter-house competition. All the four houses: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald & Topaz performed their level best to its utmost. And their performances were monitored by a team of 3 jury members & result was announced at the end of the function by Mr Shyamchand AGM & Mr Partho vice-principal Unacco school meitram. The names of the distinguished jury members were; Mr……………………, Miss,………………….& Miss ,…………………. The messages & appreciations inspired the participants to a far extent. They jury members were felicitated with the traditional state muffler known as Lengyanphee. The sweet note on Vote if Thanks by Master Suijakantakoijam of class XII Arts was charming though acknowledging each &everyone of the unacco family and the jury members too. Besides, everyone admired Miss BidyabaniAngom (pgt English) for her scintillating anchoring on the occasion. The whole function was made memorable through the camera of Mr Luwangba (pgt Manipuri).
